PictureVolunteers at an Adoption Event in April 2019
Volunteers  play a vital role at the Shelter by significantly improving the quality of life of our  four-legged residents as they wait for their forever homes.  Want to volunteer?  Opportunities abound.

Consider these options
  • Walking and socializing dogs and puppies
  • Socializing cats and kittens
  • Cleaning in the cat room
  • Participating in adoption events
  • Supporting the operation of the FNCAS  Thrift Shop
  • Providing clerical support for shelter staff

Meet these criteria
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Love animals and want to make a difference
  • Visit the shelter or the thrift shop and meet FNCAS volunteers
  • At the shelter or home complete the attached PDF fillable application (volunteer_application_fncas_july_2022.pdf) which includes a background check through the Sheriff's Department.  If you need Adobe Acrobat Reader to download the application, please go to get.adobe.com/reader/ for instructions.    After completing your application be sure to physically sign your name where indicated and include a copy of  your driver's license.
  • Submit your application in person at the Shelter or via email to shelter@northumberlandsheriff.net

After approval a FNCAS representative will contact you and get you started. We look forward to meeting you.
